Mari Hioki

Mari Hioki is vice president, Structured Settlements for MetLife. MetLife offers a variety of insurance solutions in this market, which involves the settlement of personal injury lawsuits, mass tort settlements and other complex litigation. Structured Settlements is part of Retirement & Income Solutions, which historically has been responsible for over 20 percent of MetLife’s operating earnings.

Hioki, who joined MetLife in 1989, has overall profit center and management responsibility for the Structured Settlements business, including product oversight and development, underwriting and pricing, and service and operations. During her tenure overseeing the business, more than $25 billion in structured settlement annuity premium has been placed with MetLife, making the company a leading structured settlement annuity provider in the market.

Hioki has over 30 years of industry experience. Prior to joining MetLife, she held management positions at American International Group (AIG) and Tandem Financial Group. She began her career in an actuarial position at Paul Revere Life Insurance Company, Inc. In addition to product development and management, her background includes sales and marketing, training, operations, competitive research and profit center responsibilities.

Hioki earned her bachelor’s degree with honors in Mathematics from Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA. She holds FINRA Series 6 and 63 registrations.
